The Permanent Mission of South Africa to the United Nations at Geneva and other International Organizations in Switzerland seeks to employ

1 x Secretary

Salary: Based on experience and qualifications

Qualifications/Experience

  • A minimum of 12 years schooling
  • At least a one year Secretarial Diploma/Certificate
  • A minimum of 3 years experience as a secretary
  • Valid Swiss residential permit

Required Job Competencies

  • A good oral and written command of both English and French
  • Good communication skills
  • Computer literacy on MS Office
  • Organizational skills
  • Administrative skills

Duties

  • Screening telephone calls
  • Support the Unit with logistical arrangements for incoming delegations
  • Managing diary (appointments, agendas, programmes for meetings)
  • Taking minutes and perform duties under strict deadlines
  • Operating office equipment (computers, photocopiers, etc)
  • Processing UN documents, including drafting letters etc
  • Processing electronic communications i.e. e-mail and responding to e-mail.
  • Organising business itineraries, travel arrangements, conferences, meetings, social functions
  • Administering the office administration (records management, claims, procurement)
  • Doing office translations from French to English.
  • Writing office communications in French
  • Participating in Mission projects when required
